What is Gastric Sleeve and How Can It Help You Lose Weight?

With a gastric sleeve, you can lose 60-70% of your excess weight. Within 12 to 18 months after surgery, patients may see the most results, which may include obesity-related benefits such as massive weight loss, reduced cholesterol, decreased joint/muscle pain, and more.

Your BMI (Body Mass Index) determines whether you are eligible for gastric sleeve surgery. Candidates need to have a BMI of 30 or higher.

The best way to find out if you are a candidate for gastric sleeve surgery is to book your consultation.

We will provide you with the resources and professional advice to guide you in the right direction.

Frequently Asked Questions about Gastric Sleeve

Gastric Sleeve at 360 Sleeve is $19,000, including our 6-year after-care program. Financing is available through our partner MediCard.

Gastric sleeve or sleeve gastrectomy is a type of bariatric surgery intended to treat obesity by inducing weight loss. Gastric sleeve is not only able to reduce the amount of food that the stomach can hold, but it can also lower the overall body fat by modifying the signals that work between your stomach and your brain.

After exhausting diet and exercise options, you may be ready to consider bariatric options; candidates need to have a BMI of 30+ and have a realistic expectation of the outcome of surgery. Next, a consultation with our surgeons will further determine your candidacy for sleeve gastrectomy.
OHIP often covers Gastric Bypass, but will only cover Sleeve Gastrectomy under specific circumstances. To qualify for OHIP coverage of sleeve gastrectomy, candidates need to have a BMI over 60 and/or pre-existing medical conditions that would make the bypass far too risky to perform (ie. ulcerative colitis, chronic steroid use, etc.). As a private clinic, 360 Sleeve does not take OHIP gastric sleeve referrals.
The entire procedure takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete, during which the patient is asleep.
We monitor our sleeve patients for about 24 hours post-op, meaning you will stay overnight at Clinic 360 under the care of one of our experienced nurses.

We recommend patients take 1-3 weeks off work, depending on the job. Book your free consultation to find out more.

Yes, as with any surgery you will be left with a few scars post-op. The incision sites are very minuscule though, and therefore leave behind scars that are nearly invisible.

Following surgery, patients must follow a strict post-op diet. In time, you will transition to a regular diet although portion sizes will have changed.

With Gastric Sleeve, patients can lose 60-70% of their excess body weight and reduce or resolve many obesity-related diseases such as: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, Type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, and more.
Yes, it is safe to get pregnant following gastric sleeve once your weight stabilizes. It’s recommended that pregnancy be avoided during the first 12-18 months following surgery due to the significant weight loss and metabolic changes that will be occurring.
